For current university students: Pathway2Teach Scholarship (Primary)

Are you a passionate education student ready to pave the way toward a successful teaching career?
A paid scholarship is now available under the Pathway2Teach in a primary school program. This is an exciting opportunity for students who are in their final years of studying an education program at university, to be welcomed into the Mater Dei Primary School learning community and gain classroom experience in best practice teaching and learning that supports your development as a future educator.
What you’ll gain
- Guidance and mentorship: You will be paired with experienced teaching mentors who will provide personalised support throughout the program.
- Hands-on experience: Spend a total of 10 days at our vibrant school, immersing yourself in the world of education (days are negotiated with successful applicant). Observe classes, support with lessons, and receive valuable feedback.
- Professional development: Be welcomed into the schools learning community and expand your knowledge and skills.
- Connection and school support: You’ll foster connections with educators and be a part of a collaborative school system. You won’t be alone, your assigned mentor teachers will be with you every step of the way.
Scholarship details
- School: Mater Dei Primary School, Toowoomba
- Duration: 10 days to take place throughout school terms in 2025 (days are negotiable with successful applicants)
- Casual work hours: 6 hours per day
- Incentive value: Be paid to learn as a School Officer, Level 3 Step 1 | $33.17 per hour (plus 25% casual loading)
Eligibility
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you must be
- currently studying an Initial Teacher Education program in primary education at university and in the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree, or final semester of a postgraduate degree.
